 During the recording of the project "Protagonistas de la Salsa". we spoke in several conversations about the topic that Salsa music is not being played anymore like formerly, as Rei Peña and Willie Sotelo are both authentic sons of the "Salsa Gorda",
then I decided to propose them to do something with the concept of yesterday, with today's sound, for the dancer it seems to be easy and simple, but it is not simple at all. Arrangers and musicians have changed concepts since a few years, so that we had to develop a new concept and to choose the team according to our ideal to make it reality. It was meticulously meditated, Willie and Reid started to work on the project, but the team was that well chose that everything became less complicated, as the musicians and arrangers have a big heart and very professional behavior to build this master peace that you are enjoying now. After having produced more than 400 pieces along my career, I must say with a big satisfaction this album makes me feel proud and I thank to these two true friends for all their support and dedication that both of them have invested on this project, I feel is going to be such a big success on today's Salsa context. "Salsa Gorda para el bailador". ¡¡¡Long life Salsa!!!
